How to apply

APPLICATION PROCESSES

Applications to The Holmewood School come from local and international families, and our procedures for admission can take many different routes. We treat every admission procedure as individual, due to the different factors and outside agencies that might be involved.
Procedures usually follow one of three paths:

Private application for placement
  • An enquiry is made and details are taken and logged in the enquiries folder.
  • A prospectus is sent to the family.
  • A tour and visit to the school is booked. Families are asked to bring any reports and assessments relevant to their child.
  • Families make an application to the school.
  • The school carries out an observation of the child and/or invites the child into school for taster days and an informal assessment.
  • THSL offers or declines to offer a place to the child.
  • Families fill in an acceptance form, and an acceptance fee is charged.
  • A parent pack is sent home.
  • A home visit takes place and a transition plan is put in place for the child.
