The Holmewood School specialises in meeting the needs of students between the age of
7-18 years with Asperger’s Syndrome, High Functioning Autism, ADHD, language and communication difficulties and SpLD.
We would like to invite you to one of our in house training sessions, which are free of charge.
Developing communication skills: Introduction to Lego Therapy
9th June 2011, 10.00am – 12.00pm
This training will explore the use of LEGO as a therapeutic medium for improving social competence.
You will learn the theory behind the therapy and take part in practical experiences that will help you to develop the skills to implement in your classroom.

Supporting children with autism
15th June 2011, 2.00pm – 4.00pm
This training will provide you with a brief overview of the specific difficulties that children on the spectrum may experience.
You will explore some practical ideas to support children in the classroom and support access to the curriculum and the school community.

An introduction to sensory processing difficulties and Sensory Integration
14th June 2011, 12.00pm – 2.00pm
This training will introduce you to sensory processing difficulties and how some of these difficulties can be observed and supported.
You will gain some practical use and experience of working in our sensory integration room.

Working in partnership with Hopscotch Children’s Therapy centre and THSL.
Supporting children with dyslexia
16th June 2011, 10.00am – 12.00pm
This training will provide you with an overview of the difficulties that children with dyslexia may experience.
There will be some practical interventions and ideas that can be used to help support children in the classroom.
