I’m a primary teacher from Poland, with a degree in special educational needs (SEN), a specialism in visual impairment, and a Master’s degree in SEN. I taught for a while in my home country before deciding to move to London for six months. Ten years later, I’m still here!
During my career I have mainly taught children with autism, in different schools and in different settings. My students have been right along the spectrum: some non-verbal, some with sensory difficulties, many with high-functioning ASD and Asperger’s who have successfully transitioned to mainstream. Roles I’ve had include behaviour specialist, humanities co-ordinator, ASD provision co-ordinator, and outreach trainer for mainstream teachers. I try to deploy all this experience with the children I teach here at THSL.
