In July 2010, I was awarded the Postgraduate Certificate of Education in Secondary Mathematics by London South Bank University. As part of my training course I taught at secondary mainstream and special schools in London. Prior to my position at Holmewood School, I taught mathematics at a secondary school in inner London including classes where the majority of students had special educational needs. Throughout and before my training course I spent time in special needs schools, working with and learning from experienced teachers and teaching assistants.
Although I enjoyed my previous career as a landscape architect, my keen interest in working with young people led to a radical change of career. In addition to being a maths specialist, I have particular strengths in ICT, biology, physics, arts and music and I aim to transfer this knowledge and skills into the classroom to inspire the students I work with.
