I am very excited to be part of the THSL family. In my role as a Children’s Speech and Language Therapist, I have enjoyed working with children with special educational needs for the past 15 years. I am a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists in addition I am HPC registered and a member of the National Autistic Society. I also recently gained a MA in Education.
I am experienced in a number of paediatric communication difficulties, including phonological delay and disorder, language delay and disorder, cleft palate, dysfluency, difficulties experienced by children on the autistic continuum, dyslexia, dyspraxia, voice disorder, hearing impairment and bilingualism.
I have been a Clinical Lead Therapist, for children with a Complex Communication Disorders (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), for Leicester City NHS for the past 10 years a post I continue to hold as a job-share. In Leicestershire I co-present the NAS EarlyBird Programme, for families who have a pre-school child with a recent diagnosis of ASD, alongside education colleagues in the Leicestershire Autism Outreachservice.
I am married with three grown-up children. I also have three elderly cats and enjoy live music, cooking, novels and the theatre.
